The chance to fly as a passenger on a De Havilland Canada Dash-7 is now pretty rare! Most of the Dash-7s 113 built Dash-7s have been retired and the few passenger examples that remain mostly operate charter work, and are found in remote locations. In the summer of 2019, Yellowknife based Air Tindi had one of their passenger configured De Havilland Canada Dash-7s based in Vancouver for summer fishing charters. JetFlix TV founder Henry Tenby contacted the airline with a proposal to operate an enthusiast charter flight between YVR and the Abbotsford Airshow, where the airplane would be a one day only static exhibit, and the lucky plane spotters who joined the charter could experience flight in this amazing Canadian built STOL aircraft. This special flight Dash-7 charter took place on August 10, 2019, and it was filmed extensively by Henry Tenby, and now streams as a three part mini series on JetFlix TV. Henry Tenby used several GoPro cameras to film various window and flight deck perspectives of the outbound and return flights, as well as conventional video cameras to capture the on-board cabin ambience for the full meal deal Dash-7 flight experience video as never before recorded.

Great series, Henry. The smiles on yours and everyone else’s faces told the whole story. Y’all had a great time. The inflight footage and the airshow footage was really good. You did a good job organizing the charter and I’m sure it was quite a bit of work. Thanks for posting this one. You done real good, Henry.
Thank you James! This is one of many projects on my to-do list over the pandemic, I just had to get it released. Everyone was so happy that day! It was one of those rare days where everything worked perfectly. A bunch of like minded aviation fans getting together to enjoy a common interest in a special plane, in this case the Dash-7. I sure we can do this again at some point in the future. We’ll just have to wait and see. So many people have contacted me wanting to go if we can do it one more time.
