On February 15, 1987, the then brand new Airbus A320 was rolled out at a gala ceremony held at Toulouse to introduce the world to the newest family of the young family of Airbus airliners. Airbus was setting out to offer a family of airliners to suite the different passenger capacity and range needs of global airlines. The guests of honour included Prince Charles and Lady Diana who arrived at Toulouse for the ceremony aboard the Royal BAe 146.
