KLM Fokker 70 Last Flights in Late October 2017 with JetFlix Creator Henry Tenby

In late October 2017, JetFlix creator, Henry Tenby (with assistance from Niels Dam) spent several days flying on and filming the last flights of the KLM Fokker 70 operation. Notable flights included round trips between Amsterdam and Bassel with filming including generous on board footage, as well as exterior and cabin views, lots of landing and takeoff sequences and much more.

    I have just enjoyed watching this pleasant video, and note that the flights it records happened exactly 6 years ago.
    Of especial interest is that the flights were to and from Basel, my home town and city of my birth. It is from here, in 1947, that I had my first flight as a one-year old, also on KLM, on a DC-3, to Amsterdam. I have no memory of the event, but have been told that I ran up and down the aisle to everybody’s annoyance.
    It also happens that we flew in and out of Basel this past summer, so the approach flown by the Fokker 70 stirred some recent memories as well, including the view of the distant Alps. This time we took the direct flight that Air Transat offers from Montreal on an A321LR.
