Air Canada offers a comfortable and reliable Boeing 787 connection between Vancouver and the Big Apple, via Newark Liberty Airport. Henry used an Aeroplan point redemption of 12,500 Aeroplan points to purchase the ticket, which was booked about three weeks prior to departure. This can be a busy route particularly in the peak travel summer months. In recent years the passenger loads have been such that a Boeing 787 is dedicated to the route, which was an up-gauge from narrow bodied equipment on the once daily service.
With an air time of between four to five hours depending on direction travelled and winds, the 787 provides an impressive level of comfort, even in the economy cabin. The Air Canada 787 seats are nice and comfortable and the in seat flight entertainment system makes the time pass all too quickly. Henry barely had time to watch a movie and read some magazines on his ipad.
All in all, the Air Canada 787 flight between Vancouver and Newark gets a major thumbs up, and comes with a strong recommendation from JetFlix TV!

Thanks, Henry. What a great way to get to New York! Even most of the flights within the USA from coast to coast do not boast as nice an aircraft. One day I do hope to ride on the 787. It is so nice to see positive notes about Air Canada. They seem to get such bad media and other publicity from so many Canadians. Personally, I have traveled with them for over 50 years, and really can find nothing to complain about.

Hi Carl, This was a bit different being something of the current generation of airliners for JetFlix. The fact that Air Canada up-graded the route from a narrow body Airbus to the 787 Dreamliner is big news and a major comfort enhancement for the passenger. This is specially relevant for the economy class passengers, where I believe the biggest difference in comfort levels is experienced. This is a 5-6 hour flight, similar duration to Montreal-Frankfurt, and when you are sitting in the confined space of an economy seat for that long, the small extras make a big difference. And the 787 is miles ahead of the A320 or A319 in terms of economy class comforts for the passengers. Yes, I completely agree. Air Canada provides an excellent service. Many Canadians have no idea how bad it can be flying coach on US airlines these days.
