This Cantonese Delicacies show opens in October, 1995, aboard a Canadian 747 with a roller-coaster approach and landing at famous Hong Kong Kai Tak International Airport. A great memory of this great airport!
Airline videographer Henry Tenby then takes us for a 3-day visit to Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou (formerly Canton). Back when many of the Chinese domestic airlines were still using Soviet aircraft. So, The stars of the Guangzhou show the Tu154s of China United Airlines, China Southwest, and Sichuan Airlines. Great noise!
The action is further spiced up by China General Yak-42s, a Vietnam Airlines Tu134, and more Tu154 action served up by Aeroflot, Air Volga, and Baikal Airlines. Additional domestic Chinese dishes include Shanghai Airlines 757, China Northwest MD80, BAe 146 and A300, Wuhan and Yunnan 737-300s, Air China 747SP, and lots of China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines fleet action.

The second half of the Cantonese Delicacies show serves up a generous helping of non-stop, jet action filmed from various scenic locations at Hong Kong Kai Tak airport, back in 1995 and 1997. Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways’ fleet mixes company with Kai Tak regulars including 747s of Mandarin Airlines (747SP), China Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Air China, Thai, United, KAL, Canadian, Polar Air Cargo, Air France, British Asia Airways, Air France, and Singapore Airlines, in addition to MD11s of Garuda, China Eastern, Philippine Air Lines … and more!

Hi Faisal, You were extremely lucky to be able to experience the Concorde, that would be amazing!! I only saw the Concorde on numerous ocassions at Miami and London Heathrow. Those were the days!
You were very lucky to see Concorde perform at Kai Tak!! I saw it many times at London Heathrow from the Sheraton Skyline Hotel on the north side Bath Road. It was a fantastically loud plane! I miss it very much!
When did Air Canada get to start flying to Hong Kong? I thought only Canadian Airlines got to fly to Kai Tak.
I think they did it a few times, but most recently was with their new 747-400s in the mid to late 1990s. I do not think they stayed on the Kai Tak too long, maybe a year or two and then they dropped it. And of course they resumed the service around 2002 when they acquired Canadian.
