FlyVLM Fokker 50 Re-Launch London City Airport Service – Part 2

Details

Continuing where the Part 1 show left, this video presents the largest segment of the outbound FlyVLM flight from Antwerp to London City airport, marking the re launch of Fokker 50 scheduled service on the route on October 30, 2017.

It picks up from the climb out of Antwerp, with the continued flight across the channel and the landing at London City, followed by parking at the terminal building and the extremely efficient deplaning. During the flight we took advantage of the opportunity to explore the cabin of the Fokker 50 in some details, from a few different seats and vantage points.

For approach and landing at London City we moved to the very first row on the port side of the aircraft, which afforded us a very nice full engine view, which we consider as the best view in the house when riding a Fokker 50. As is rather frequent at London City, we did a direct approach from the east with straight in landing with easy roll out and immediate parking at the terminal building.

FlyVLM does not waste a moment’s of time with their London City turn arounds. It was necessary to exit the aircraft quickly so we could walk to the airport viewing location situated across the bridge on the north side of the field by the office buildings on the river promenade. Which is exactly where the departure of the FlyVLM Fokker 50 back to Antwerp was filmed.

Thank you Carl. We were quite light departing London City that night for the return flight back to Antwerp. It was a nice and clear night all through the flight across the Channel and in to Brussels, so even thought it was dark, you could still see the cities and streets and lights below very nicely.
