In this short video we join JetFlix TV founder Henry Tenby for a visit to the old Athens Airport between December 27-29, 1994. The footage was filmed from the balcony of room 434 at the Fenix Hotel, which was a favourite for spotters from all over the world.

The Fenix Hotel at Athens airport was situated right at the threshold of the runway, so all take-offs and landings could be filmed from the comfort of the private balcony of the room.

Back in 1994 Athens attracted an interesting mix of traffic including classic Soviet era airliners from the former CIS countries, as well as Middle East based airlines, including MEA and their Boeing 707s and Syrianair and their short-lived Tupolev Tu-154.

Although this video is short, we felt the rarity of the subject matter warranted being released on the JetFlix TV platform for everyone to enjoy. We hope you agree.
