In May of 2013, JetFlix founder Henry Tenby visited Air Transport International to document some of the final flights of their DC-8-62 passenger combi prior to replacements with newer 757 aircraft. Henry Tenby spent several days filming their DC-8-62 operation in California prior to the aircraft’s final departure from the Continental United States. This market the end of the line for worldwide passenger carry scheduled DC-8 operations.

In this episode number 2, ATI DC-8 Maintenance Engineers Robert Dobler and Phil Sisco welcome us on board for a live taxi and max power engine test.

To capture the all the action from every conceivable angle and perspective, we had exterior cameras mounted on the front and rear belly of the aircraft to film all the sounds and excitement up close. Naturally, we were able to film the engine starts, taxi, and the full power engine run ups and thrust reverser deployments from the exterior.

But we also filmed the proceedings from inside the cockpit, and from the passenger cabin. So for the purist looking to relive the sights and sounds of the DC-8-62 every which way possible, this will be a video of very special interest.
