Produced by the legendary Dutch model maker Verkuyl in the early 1960s, this giant travel agency display model represents one of the finest surviving examples of its type. Weighing approximately 30 to 40 pounds, this impressive aircraft model was originally produced for KLM’s worldwide network of travel agencies shortly after the Douglas DC-8-50 entered airline service in 1961.

This particular model has undergone an extensive museum-grade restoration while carefully preserving its original Verkuyl decals and markings. The finish now features a deep, mirror-like automotive clear coat and presents better than at any time during its more than 60-year history.
