Tokyo Haneda Airport for aviation fans and spotters
Details
Tokyo Haneda Airport is a mecca for diehard aircraft aviation fans and spotters. It can easily be accessed via the train from Shinjuku Station in central Tokyo with a journey time of about 45 minutes each way. Also It includes changing trains as there is no direct train to reach the terminal buildings.
Haneda Airport boasts three separate and distinct terminals. One for JAL (Terminal 1), one for All Nippon ANA (Terminal 2), and the International Terminal. The train will drop you off either at the International Terminal or the domestic terminal area. Once at the domestic terminal area you can take a free shuttle bus between the ANA and JAL terminals.
The good news is that all three terminals boast massive, open air observation decks that span each of the terminal roofs and offer great views of the aprons, runways and all the non-stop action. This video takes the viewer on a obs deck visit at Tokyo Haneda airport. We spend most of the time at ANA Terminal 2, as this deck offers all around better views than Terminal 1 and the International Terminal.
Total run time: 37 minutes.
